Natalie Goldberg
As the Extension Plant Pathologist, Dr. Natalie Goldberg's primary interest and responsibility is in developing and delivering science-based educational programs in the area of plant health management. Her primary focus is on the identification of plant diseases, biology and epidemiology of pathogens, plant disease management, and the diagnostic process. She also provides educational programming on issues related to crop biosecurity. She also oversees the NMSU Plant Diagnostic Clinic and provides information on disease outbreaks in New Mexico to the public and to regional and national pest information databases. Her recent research interests focus on the biology and genetics of Xylella fastidiosa, diseases caused by Phytophthora spp, and the interaction of microbes with each other and with plants and their effects on the management of plant diseases.
