Current research and extension interests are focused on the biological and integrated control of insect and mite pests of concern to the small-scale growers and urban residents of New Mexico. Projects include those on pests associated with fruit and vegetable crops as well as pests of ornamental plants and the urban environment (including, for example, IPM in schools). Conservation and enhancement of naturally-occurring biological control agents and other beneficial insects (e.g. pollinators) are of particular interest.
