Interim Superintendent/Extension Agronomist | Agricultural Science Center at Artesia

I appreciate the opportunities to explain basic soil properties that limit plant productivity in New Mexico but more importantly the methods that can be used to improve crop productivity.

Areas of interest include management of nutrients from organic and inorganic sources, evaluating the interactions of management practices for crop production with saline and sodic soils, irrigation water management and conservation practices, reducing nitrate-N loss from leaching, and controlling soil erosion.

I also explore the potential for new varieties of traditional crops and alternative crops for southeastern New Mexico and assist the NMSU soil testing lab with soil and water interpretations.
