Associate Professor/Extension Fruit Specialist
As the Fruit Specialist, Dr. Shengrui Yao's primary research/extension interests are organic / conventional tree fruit and small fruit production, orchard floor / groundcover management, and potential alternative fruit crops like jujubes (Chinese date) for the late frost threatened areas in New Mexico.
She also assists fruit growers and small scale farmers, provides science-based basic and advanced trainings to fruit growers and Master Gardeners.
